Vial Capping Freeze Dryers

HDF-FD01 to FD60 vial-capping lyophilization systems for container closure and aseptic handling.

Vial-capping freeze dryers couple the drying process with container closure. The product is dried in vials, and the closure — stoppering or capping — is performed as part of the cycle. The system is specified around the vial and closure type, the fill volume and the handling and documentation the project requires.

Who this is for

Best fitPharmaceutical and diagnostic teams lyophilizing a product in vials, where the container must be closed inside the chamber under controlled conditions.
Confirm firstIf your product does not need in-chamber closure, a standard shelf dryer is simpler and less costly — confirm the closure requirement first.

Where it is used

  • Vial-lyophilized injectables and biologics — drying in the final container.
  • Diagnostic reagents — vials closed after drying for stability.
  • Regulated product development — cycles with batch records and defined handling.

Model range and published parameters

The vial-capping family spans HDF-FD01 to HDF-FD60. Reference values below are published for automatic stoppering with a silicone-oil heating configuration; the closure mechanism, CIP/SIP and loading method are confirmed against the vial and closure system.

Shelf temperature range is -45 to +70 °C. Models FD05 and above use water cooling. CIP and SIP, remote control, automatic stoppering and automatic loading/unloading are configuration options. Published reference values from the HADOF capping catalog.

How to choose a configuration

Closure method

Stoppering under vacuum or controlled atmosphere, or capping — the choice follows the vial and closure system, not a generic default.

Handling features

Manual or automatic loading, CIP and SIP are selected to match the operating and cleaning requirements.

Customization scope

Shelf area, closure mechanism, loading method, and cleaning or sterilization features are configured per order. The vial and closure type, fill volume and regulatory market are confirmed first because they determine the configuration and documentation.

Quality control

Closure reviewVial and closure system confirmed before specification.
Assembly checkChamber, shelf and closure mechanisms inspected in process.
Function testVacuum, temperature and closure sequencing verified.
RecordsTest data and documentation issued with the machine.
Pre-shipmentFinal inspection against the agreed configuration.

After-sales and documentation

Installation and operation documentation is provided, with remote support and spare-part guidance after delivery. Qualification support is scoped per project and market.

How pricing works

Price follows the closure mechanism, shelf area, handling features and documentation. A basic vial-capping configuration costs less than one with automatic loading and cleaning options. Share the vial, closure and fill volume and we quote the matching configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need stoppering or capping?

It depends on your closure system and whether the vial must be closed in the chamber. We confirm it against your container before quoting.

Which model fits my vial size?

Shelf area and the closure mechanism are set by vial dimensions, fill volume and batch size — share those and we map the model.

Can cleaning features be added?

Yes, but they are configuration options confirmed against your cleaning and operating requirements.
